Prudential Nichols Real Estate has partnered with Freedom Calls Foundation to host "Operation Christmas Calls," a charity event to benefit deployed Alabama soldiers and their loved ones. Prudential Nichols Real Estate’s Daphne office will open their doors Sunday, December 16, 2007 to families that have loved ones stationed at any of the following:

Camp Taji
Camp Fallujah
Camp Taqaddum
Al Asad Airbase
Camp Victory

The event will provide the space and equipment for the soldier and their loved ones to have a ½ hour video conference session at no cost to the family or deployed soldier.

We need help getting in touch with local families that may have loved ones stationed at any of these locations and spreading the word about this event. We are asking that if you have any information regarding local units or individual soldiers stationed at one of these camps to contact Prudential Nichols Real Estate at 251-626-2030. This will be an all-day event, but unfortunately we will be limited on the number of appointments that can be set.

Nothing could brighten a soldier’s Christmas more when they can’t be home for Christmas than to actually be able to see his or her loved ones and talk with them for ½ an hour without any worry of cost per minute calls. Prudential Nichols Real Estate and Freedom Calls Foundation would like to thank our community in advance for helping us locate these special families. Freedom Calls Foundation is a 501(c)3 charity and operates solely on contributions by companies and individuals. Donations in any amount are acceptable and appreciated. These donations will be earmarked to benefit deployed Alabama Soldiers.

The Foundations satellite network is connected to Freedom Calls Facilities situated in military camps in Iraq under authority of the Dept. of the Army and the Marines. At present, the Foundation has 4 facilities in Iraq with 50 computers and 20 telephones at Camp Taji located north of Baghdad in the Sunni triangle and video conferencing facilities at Camp Fallujah Al Asad Airbase and Camp Victory in Baghdad. More than 30,000 soldiers and Marines in these camps now have 24/7 access to Freedom Calls’ services to keep in close touch with their families and loved ones at home free of charge. We are working to install Freedom Calls facilities at 8 additional Army camps on the front lines in Iraq, 2 Army camps in Afghanistan and 8 more Marine camps this year. We need public support to meet this need.
