Brandweek Magazine Readers Pick Curves Cereal as Best Food Extension |
|||||||||||||||||
Curves International, Inc., the world’s largest fitness club franchisor, today announced that its Curves Cereal line was named Best Food Extension by the readers of Brandweek magazine. An overwhelming majority—34.3 percent—of the 785 marketing professionals who responded to the independent TippingSprung Brand Extension Survey cited Curves Cereal as the best of the bunch in the food category. Survey winners were credited with having "found a way to create innovative, successful extensions that are in harmony with the core brand." Curves Cereal was launched earlier this year in a partnership with General Mills and is currently carried nationally in more than 20,000 retail stores. Offering a wide variety of nutrition benefits, like fiber to help curb hunger and whole grain to help manage weight, the great tasting products along with exercise are designed to help consumers continue their circuit to success by helping take weight off and keep it off. "Curves and General Mills are a natural fit because we share the same values," said Curves International President Mike Raymond. "We’re both concerned about women’s health. Most women know it’s not just about diet or exercise; it’s both." Curves Cereal is available in Whole Grain Crunch and Honey Crunch varieties and contains at least 33 percent of the daily recommended allowance of whole grains.* The Curves Foods line also includes Curves Chewy Granola Bars in Chocolate Peanut and Strawberries and Cream flavors, with just 100 calories and five grams of fiber in each bar. Other Curves Foods products are scheduled to launch in 2008. For more information and a free cereal sample and coupon, please visit www.curvesfoods.com *At least 48 grams recommended daily.
