Chicago - The National Restaurant Association Educational Foundation (NRAEF) has partnered with McDonald’s Corporation to roll out the ServSafe® Manager Certification Training Online Course and Exam to all McDonald’s U.S. restaurants.

The NRAEF collaborated with McDonald’s to bring an online food safety solution to their operations that works for all of its restaurants.  A unique, customized Web portal connects McDonald’s employees to the ServSafe online program. In addition to delivering consistent training across its entire system, this online solution reduces McDonald’s training costs by decreasing demand on its training staff and it provides convenience for managers to train at various locations and times.

“Food safety training is always evolving, and an online solution offers McDonald’s the ability to take advantage of the latest developments in Web-based training.  ServSafe online training delivers consistent and comprehensive food safety training content for all McDonald’s U.S. locations,” said NRAEF President and Chief Operating Officer Mary Adolf.

McDonald’s has made the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification an important part of its career development, and the online solution makes it easier for employees to take advantage of training and certification.

“ServSafe brings the comprehensive training our employees need to serve our customers the safest food possible, and the online program brings them everything they need to know right at their fingertips.  This is an integral part of managers’ training because food safety is one of our highest priorities,” said Diana Thomas, Vice President of U.S. Training, Learning & Development and Dean of McDonald’s Hamburger University.

The online course is easy-to-use and self-paced. It allows users to easily review key concepts at their convenience from anywhere with an Internet connection. The online course helps prepare employees for the ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certification exam by incorporating audio and video instruction with interactive exercises that simulate real-life scenarios.  It also offers pre- and post-tests to help students measure their level of understanding of food safety concepts.  It is designed for new and/or experienced managers or staff who need food safety training to prepare for certification, recertification, or to refresh their knowledge.

The ServSafe Manager Certification Training Online Course is part of the ServSafe product line, which also includes ServSafe Coursebook, ServSafe Essentials, ServSafe Instructor Complete Toolkit, and ServSafe Food Protection Manager Certificate Examination.
