E.I. Medical Imaging Introduces a New Generation of Portable Veterinary Ultrasound

Loveland, Colo. — Veterinarians and producers now have the tools they need to diagnose pregnancy, abdominal abnormalities or tendon injuries, no matter where their practice takes them. This fall, E.I. Medical Imaging, the only U.S.-based manufacturer of portable veterinary ultrasound designed specifically for veterinary use, will debut the Ibex Pro and Ibex Lite for expanded bovine, equine, swine, exotic and large/small veterinary applications.

Companies like E.I. Medical Imaging have worked for years to improve the functionality and bio-security of portable ultrasound used for animal health. The advent of improved technology helps veterinarians and producers troubleshoot management issues that affect animal health—and ultimately an operation’s bottom line—whether in the barn or in the field.

“We need a nifty quote from an E.I. Medical official regarding the benefits that the Ibex technology can deliver to the user,” said Name, Title of E.I. Medical Imaging.

Developed exclusively for animal and livestock needs based on intensive research and input from vets, producers, breeders and current users, the new Ibex Pro and Ibex Lite are the strongest new challengers in ultra-portable ultrasound.

Quick zoom, cini-loop (eight-second video playback), flash drive image storage, USB and wireless links, voice tag, track ball navigation, and RFID reader for animal identification features are contained in a bio-secure casing utilizing DuraScan technology to improve system ruggedness.  Kevlar-reinforced transducers further assure that the entire system can withstand the riggors of field use. High resolution scans on either the Ibex LCD monitor or InSite monitor glasses expedite accurate examinations anywhere.

"Ultrasound is probably the most valuable piece of equipment ever used on a sow farm. The reduction in non-productive sow days has been about eight days. Improved reproductive performance, farrowing and conception rate, and the ability to troubleshoot management problems are just some of the advantages we have seen at Prestige Farms. Our team uses the ultrasound as a production tool on a daily basis," stated Mark Daughtry of Prestage Farms.

Ibex Pro and Ibex Lite portable ultrasound systems will be available to veterinarians and producers by September 2008. For more information, contact Mia Varra at 1-866-365-6596 or visit www.IbexUltrasound.com.

E.I. Medical Imaging, a world leader in veterinary diagnostic ultrasound for 25 years, provides versatile, portable systems designed for use in the field.
